堂前扑枣任西邻,无食无儿一妇人。

Before my cottage,I never stopped my neighbor from picking jujubes,

For the west neighbor is a woman with no food,daughters or sons.

不为困穷宁有此?只缘恐惧转须亲。

Who would do so if one was not forced by extreme poverty?

It is because of her fear that she should be dealt with more carefully.

即防远客虽多事,便插疏篱却甚真。

Seeing you move in and keeping an eye on you,too much she thought.

But it was all because of the sparse bamboo fence you built.

已诉征求贫到骨,正思戎马泪盈巾。

She told me she was in poverty due to the goverment's heavy taxes.

Thinking of the war affairs,one can't help bursting into tears.
